An example of a shed pad

The importance of a properly prepared foundation is often underestimated. The foundation or pad for a Shed or Modular Garage should be constructed in the following manner. First an area 2' bigger than the Shed (example= a 10x12 shed pad should be 12x14) needs to be cleared of any vegetation. Next the area needs to be made level with crushed stone or other approved fill to a height that will keep water from collecting on the pad site. It is a good practice to use landscaping timbers or other products to construct a retaining wall around the pad. REMEMBER! The shed will end up being as level as the foundation pad.
